Football match finish-time calculator
What time will the football finish?
Planning the evening around the match? Start with kick-off, set your allowances and see where full-time could land on the clock.
All times use the same local clock as kick-off.
Defaults are editable planning assumptions. A shoot-out can follow normal time directly if the competition allows it.
A little help with the rest of your evening.

An estimate, not a final-whistle prediction. Delays and sudden-death penalties can push the finish later.
Why 90 minutes
isn’t 90 minutes.
A standard match has two 45-minute halves. The half-time interval can be up to 15 minutes, and the referee adds time for stoppages in each half. That puts the finish 105 minutes after kick-off before any added time, when using a 15-minute break.
These timings follow IFAB Law 7. The additional time displayed by the fourth official is a minimum and can increase. This calculator cannot know how long an injury, VAR check or other interruption will take.
With the example assumptions of three first-half and five second-half added minutes, a 20:00 kick-off ends at an estimated 21:53. Those eight minutes are an editable example, not a forecast or a measured average.
If the match
needs a winner.
For a tie using two 15-minute extra-time periods, enable extra time. The calculator adds 30 minutes plus the combined breaks and extra stoppage time you enter. Its initial six-minute break allowance is a planning choice, not a fixed rule.
Penalty shoot-outs have no fixed duration. The allowance here includes preparation and kicks; sudden death can take longer. Some competitions go directly to penalties, so you can enable penalties without extra time. Check the competition’s rules; IFAB Law 10 describes the permitted ways to resolve a drawn match.
Times stay on the same local clock as kick-off. A finish after midnight is marked as the next day. This is not a timezone converter and does not adjust for a clock change during the match. Leave your own margin for travel or firm appointments.
